DAY 22

Pancake Challenge

Coach Note: Mobility speeds up skill acquisition. Learning a new skill requires several adaptations in the body. Learning, understanding, and executing a specific movement takes repetitive practice to engrain this pattern.

For example, the Snatch is a high skill movement that requires several repetitions to begin to learn how to move the barbell most efficiently from ground to overhead. If your mobility is very poor you now have to learn how to compensate around your poor mobility while simultaneously having to try to improve your mobility in order to achieve more biomechanically advantageous positions.

This same concept for the Snatch applies to all new skills. Do NOT let mobility stop you from learning a new skill. Keep that flexibility in check so you have all the prerequisites to learn any movement you desire.

Short on Time:
Standing Pancake Hinge x 10
Weighted Pancake (straight back, butt elevated if needed) x 2-3 min
