NINJA CREAMI PROTEIN ICE CREAM

One thing I’ve learned from over 20 years working out and trying to eat to support my physique and performance goals is that a meal without protein is just a snack that won’t land you in a good place for performance and body composition changes.

”Get more protein” is what you hear just about anywhere you turn for health and fitness advice. But I take it a step further. Including protein at every meal is one of the most powerful things you can do.

While in the past this hasn’t always been the easiest thing for people to accomplish, it is getting easier and easier with more food producers thinking about how to offer conveniently packaged protein without a ton of added fat and carbs.

Unless you’ve been off social media entirely, you’ve probably caught wind of the Ninja Creami craze. This magical machine allows you to make ice cream in minutes that is packed with protein and low in calories.

One of the hardest parts about nutrition is staying consistent – and a low calorie, protein-packed ice cream can certainly help matters a lot.

So far my experience has been INCREDIBLE with this. I’ve explored many different recipes. Today I want to share my top 3 that I love the most and show you step-by-step how to make them.

Ninja Creami Substitute

Need a Ninja Creami Substitute? Here is a list of alternatives, though I am definitely a fan of the original. There are several models, but any of them work for the recipes below.

A note about ingredients – you can also substitute the milks recommended below with any kind of milk you like, including oat milk, soy milk, or any kind of nut or dairy milk. Just adjust the macros accordingly, and you may need to play around a bit to get the texture you like.

Ninja Creami Protein Ice Cream - Assembly

  1. 24 hrs ahead, blend all the ingredients together minus the “mix-ins.” You can make a bunch of these early in the week and enjoy them several nights later. Use a hand-held blender to combine ingredients until smooth.
  2. Freeze on a level surface for at least 24 hrs – you want it rock solid.
  3. When it is time to enjoy, pop your pint in the Creami. Use the Lite Ice Cream setting and let it do its magic. Warning – it is loud! But short (a few minutes).

If the texture looks crumbly, add a tablespoon or so of liquid and use the Re-Spin setting.

Mix-In Optional – to add mix ins for extra crunch or flavor, you will have to eat a little ice cream out of the center of your container. Make a hole that goes to the bottom of the container right in the middle of the ice cream. Place your mix-in ingredient in the center and then place it back on the Ninja Creami and run the Mix-In feature cycle.

Remove and Enjoy!

A note about the settings on the Ninja Creami – Depending on the model Ninja Creami you get, there may be different features. There are buttons for sorbet, milkshakes, regular ice cream, and more. For these recipes, you only need the Lite Ice Cream button. Every recipe out there on the internet is slightly different and depending on the type of milk and ingredients used, the setting on the Creami matters.
